AFRICAN SPIRIT
I have always liked the art of portrait because it highlights the spirit and the depth of character drawn by just looking at facial expressions, especially the eyes.
I choose to use pastel colors in my African line.
Although these colors are difficult to use because it is hard to remove the color and change it if it is placed on paper..
However, I preferred to use it because I mix colors using my own fingers directly, and this makes me more connected with the artwork and more able to convey my feeling in my paintings. I prefer to paint portraits of dark-skinned people in particular, because they are very shiny, which clearly shows the shadow and light on the skin, so it looks as if it was carved with perfection.. I love highlighting these details specifically in my paintings.
