Project Description

THE CONTRARY

I am an Egyptian artist who was greatly influenced by ancient Egyptian art and the abstract school. I wanted to mix the two together to create a different style that combines antiquity with modernity.

I have studied the cats’ bodies in details for more than three months between the anatomy of the body In different positions and I started to show the flexibility of their bodies and different shapes that appear whenever they move In my cat paintings.

As an artist, I have chosen to work exclusively with Canson paper, using only black and white to express my creative vision. This deliberate limitation is not a constraint but a powerful tool that enhances the depth and intensity of my work. By stripping away color, I focus on the raw interplay between light and shadow, form and emptiness, presence and absence.

My collection, “The Contrary” embodies this philosophy. Each piece in the series explores the duality of existence—darkness and light, chaos and order, silence and noise. The richness of black ink against the textured Canson surface creates a striking dialogue, where every stroke carries meaning, and every void speaks as loudly as the lines themselves.

Through this minimalist approach, I aim to evoke emotions, challenge perception, and invite viewers to engage with the essence of contrast in both art and life.
